Cowley is a special place. Every year, we welcome students into the Sixth Form from many schools across St Helens and further afield. We pride ourselves on the support offered to every individual that joins Cowley and truly believe that every one of our students has an amazing potential to succeed.
Cowley is a larger than average Sixth Form which means we offer a wide portfolio of courses to our students. This ranges from traditional A-levels to vocational qualifications and career-based courses. Whatever your decision, you can guarantee that you will be taught by experts in the subject who are willing to go that extra mile to ensure that you achieve your true potential.

immersive experience exploring the extraordinary world of NHS Healthcare Physiological Sciences careers.
From the rhythm of the heart in Cardio-Respiratory, to the mysteries of sleep, and the precision of vascular diagnostics, students will hear firsthand from staff members who blend cutting-edge technology with compassionate care.
This event includes inspiring career journeys and a rare glimpse into specialist areas like Audiology, Sleep and Ventilation, and Visual Electro-diagnostics—revealing how these unsung heroes of healthcare transform people’s lives every day.
This is a chance for students to see science-in-action, directly pose their questions to our clinical experts and to imagine a future where they could be part of.

Employers & Apprenticeships Day - Careers Fair with a wide range of employers and training providers across a range of industries, plus talks, workshops and interview preparation.

Assessment Centre - Each student will sit a mock interview and take part in assessment centre activities.
📅 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 - 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲
Three days of work experience (students of some vocational courses will do longer). Students find their own placement in an area they're interested in potential careers in.

We were delighted to welcome former student Paul Booth back to Cowley Sixth Form as part of our Cowley Conversations assembly series.
Paul shared his inspiring career journey since leaving Cowley, giving students a real insight into the different pathways that led him to his current role in Nuclear Engineering at Amentum. From post-18 decisions to building experience in a highly specialised sector, Paul spoke honestly about the challenges, opportunities and lessons he’s learned along the way.
